TV Stations

Richmond has only one TV station in the city. However, the area comprises both Indiana and Ohio TV markets due to it's small distance from Dayton.

WCTV-
Whitewater Community Television is a PEG station that services the wayne county area. It has 3 legs or channels, 11, 20 and 21. Each channel has a different function. 21 is for public access, 20 is for education access, and 11 is for government access. It is a non-for-profit organization located on the campus of Indiana University East. While not very popular, it's given young telecommunications minded students like myself an outlet for work-experience, practice, and to showcase talent. Student produced programming from Richmond High School, like sports and news, is often featured.

Stations We Get!-
The tagline is “dayton's news source”. However, ABC 22 news serves as primary source for news for Richmond residents as well. Their main market is Greene County, Dayton and Kettering in Ohio, but that doesn't The ABC affiliate station shys away rom stories in richmond. On the contrary, they're often the first on the scene.

Wish TV 8 is located in Indianapolis. While Richmond receives the station, it really isn't popular in town. Sometimes, it seems that Wish TV 8 forgets they're broadcasting to Richmond, as other areas like Kokomo and Muncie tend to get more coverage. As expected, when it comes to sports they focus heavily on Indy schools. This sometimes serves as motivation for Richmond High School athletes when they play an Indy opponent.
